A Governance Report

This report is an analysis of the comprehensive database from the Meeting the Climate Change Challenge research project on local climate change mitigation and adaptation in British Columbia. This study and reanalysis of the MC3 data is one of the outcomes of our current research into new governance models for a carbon neutral economy.

Governance involves the interactions among structures, processes and traditions that determine how power is exercised, how decisions are taken, and how citizens or other stakeholders have their say. Fundamentally, it is about power, relationships and accountability who has influence, who decides, and how decision makers are held accountable. It is more like the art of steering societies and organisations and conflict solving (Vymetal, 2007). The analysis examines the MC3 interview data to reveal key findings on policy, collaboration, governance and government.
